Trying out Pixi Beauty Makeup – Brand Focus

19th April 2018

Pixi beauty review

*post in collobaration with cult beauty and contains gifted items and some affilate links all reviews are my own*

Pixi Beauty is literally everywhere at the moment, they have so many new makeup releases and collaborations and can you believe that I have never tried any Pixi makeup, I have tried their skin care but none of their makeup, so I was recently sent some lovely goodies from Cult beauty to try including some makeup sets. I think Pixi is definitely more well known for their iconic glow tonic, I have got to be honest this is my second bottle of this and I’m still not wowed by it and not totally sure its changed or helped my skin that much, although so many people rave about it, but I guess it can’t work for everyone. But I do love the hydrating milky mist, this is the second one I’ve purchased, I love hydrating face sprays so this is one of my favorites, I also love the glow mud cleanser and face mask, those are great to use together.

Pixi makeup

I was definitely excited to try out some of the makeup, I had my eye on these liquid fairy light eye shadows, Isn’t the name so cute?! I also got the hello glow set and the new Pixi Weylie collaboration which is the dimensional eye creator kit. Does anyone else love the fact that Pixi collaborate with lots of different beauty influencers, I just love that.

Dimensional Eye Creator Kit £22

Pixi weylie palette

This set is in collaboration with beauty vlogger Weylie Hoang, this eye kit contains a gorgeous universal eye shadow palette, you can tell it was created to be versatile and flatter so many eye shapes and skin tones, it has 3 shimmer shades and 3 matte, and I think this is the perfect everyday essential palette, the shades are my typical shades that I will reach for on a day to day basis. You have the perfect shades for a transition and crease colour as well as creating a smokey look and adding a bit of glam with the shimmers. This palette was very well thought out. This was obviously the first time I’ve tried Pixi eye shadows and I was really impressed with the pigment and how well they blended, they feel really silky and smooth as well.

This set also comes with a 2-in 1 kohl black liner, one side is liquid and the other side is pencil, which is what everyone needs and uses, so this is a perfect duo to have for  everyday as well as on the go and travel. I wish I could say I was amazing at doing winged liner but I’m really not, which makes me sad so I don’t use liquid liner a lot but I do love a good old kohl pencil and this is very creamy and pigmented.

The shades are gorgeous and extremely pigmented, it has a champagne gold and rose gold shimmer and then the most perfect camel brown shade, I think that one is my favourite but I love the warm tones in this palette. I think you could create so many looks with this and you can even use the top shimmer shades as highlighters they’re that pigmented. I can see why this collection is everywhere at the moment and why so many people are loving it.

Hello Glow kit £20

Pixi hello glow set

You should all know by now I love my glow products, so this set was perfect to try out a selection of their glow essentials. It contains a liquid illuminator, blush duo and lip plumping gloss.

straight away I loved the gloss, its my perfect shade I go for, this one is called honey sheen and is a gorgeous nude with a hint of shimmer and I love the fact it’s a lip plumper as well. I always love fuller looking lips. This is definitely going to be one of my handbag essentials.

now these products achieve a subtle glow, rather than that intense glow and highlight that everyone has become addicted to, but I love that lit from within look, which is why I love adding liquid illuminators in with my moisturiser and foundation, it just gives a lovely radiant glow to the skin.

Same the the blush duo, it is not as pigmented as a normal blush but I love the fact you can mix both the shades and add a pinch of colour to the cheeks and face but adding that subtle glow, I’m starting to really love using radiant powders all over the skin at the moment.

Liquid Fairy Lights £15

Pixi fairy lights

Another product I’m obsessed with and that is glitter eye shadows, you should probably all know by now how much I rave about the stilla ones, well I’m hoping some of you might be pleased to know, I might have found a cheaper alternative here, these have more product and are only £15 whereas the stila ones are £23 and from my first impression of these fairy lights they’re exactly the same. I have the shades Bare Brillance and Passhion Light, Bare Brillance is my favourite out the two as it is a little more wearable for me and seems more sparkly and intense, I think it comes down to the pigment and colours as I find the same with the stila ones, they aren’t all consistant, I find some a little patchy and others really pigmented, some have more base colour and others its more glitter which I think is the case with these as well. But I have been impressed with these so much I’m going to order myself some more of the lighter shades. So If you love these shadows like me then you must add these to your collection and give them a try.

Bare Brillance is described as a pale champagne rose and Passion light is a rich copper bronze.

As I said at the start the glow tonic I wasn’t blown away by, but I do still use it occasionally, maybe I need to give it another go before I completely write it off, but the Hydrating Milky Mist is one of my must haves, I’ve just recently purchased this as a back up for when I run out of my other one, I just find it so refreshing to use, you can use this over makeup or as skincare.

I really want to try the double cleanse that everyone raves about which is also one of Pixi’s popular products. I have got my eye on the glow mist,  but it also comes in a duo with the glow mist and makeup fixing mist which again sounds like something I would love so I might have to get the duo as its better value for money….. If you haven’t noticed by now I have an addiction to sparkly eye shadows, face mists and glow products, I would definitely say they’re my favourite makeup and skin care products.

I have been very impressed with the makeup bits I have tried and definitely want to pick up a few more products to try out, I have heard amazing things about their liquid lipsticks as well that I might have to add to my ever growing list , I’m also really surprised at the price point as well, the gift sets  I have seen online are great value for what you get, why didn’t I try more products from pixi beauty sooner?!

So If you love Pixi and need to stock up on some favourites or like me you want to try out something you haven’t yet from Pixi like the makeup or skincare products then now is the perfect opportunity as cult beauty currently have free worldwide shipping on pixi this month and you all know I love shopping on cult and promoting their brand of the month. 🙂

Let me know if you have got your eye on anything I mentioned In this post, and hope it was helpful.

Thanks for reading xo

Oh my god! These liquid eye shadows look amazing! I need to give these a try a million percent. I love the Stila ones but the bigger sized, as the smaller ones I found the pigment was unnoticeable! I also have the Pixi Glow Tonic and I’ve not been blown away with it, but I need to give the milky one a try xx

My Santa has been and John has only got me Dalmati My Santa has been and John has only got me Dalmatian print wrapping paper 😭 this could have been my present alone and I would have been thrilled! Love how it goes with my Dalmatian baubles 🤩 he knows me so well 🎁 🖤and it’s completely recyclable 👌🏼♻️
Just the presents to put under the tree, the annua Just the presents to put under the tree, the annual Christmas Eve clean up, set up the Christmas Day table and get myself sorted and pampered and we are all ready!! Can’t wait to just chill for a few days as Christmas always goes so quick doesn’t it. I Hope you all have a lovely Christmas whatever it is you will be doing 🎄 🎅🏻🤶🏻 🎁 🍾🥂 here’s some pictures of my tree with the lights on, it’s weird as these lights I got from the range look different each time I turn them on 🙈 I think I prefer my old ones from last year to be honest👀
I’ve been looking for dog harnesses and leads fo I’ve been looking for dog harnesses and leads for a while now as we wanted something new for the new additions we have. I got Elliott’s old ones from America and I just hadn’t seen anything I really loved until I came across @popandtedthreads and I fell in love with their whole range, especially the made to order personalised ones where you can pick your own fabric, trim and hardware colours. Of course I just had to have this monochrome Dalmatian print fabric😍🤩 I can’t believe they’re completely hand made, I’m so impressed with the quality and finish. You can tell a lot of hard work and love goes into these so thank you @popandtedthreads my little pups are going to love their new stuff for Christmas and will look so cute!! Thought I would share incase anyone else was looking for really unique dog accessories 🖤
I really wanted to change up this Christmas Wreath I really wanted to change up this Christmas Wreath this year and add some bits to it but I just haven’t had the time, not even put up half of my Christmas decorations that I wanted to. 😭 So I just added some more snow and glitter to this and have made do 🙈 honesty where has this year and month gone...it’s flown by and I’m not ready for Christmas in the slightest, got to finish my shopping tomorrow and wrap everything, do the food shop and have a good clean up in the house! Oh take me back to being a kid and being excited for Christmas ha ha! 🎅🏻🤶🏻🎄
Another job ticked off the list and one step close Another job ticked off the list and one step closer to finally finishing everything in the kitchen yay. 😊 I really wanted an antique mirror cooker splash back, it’s the reason I didn’t go for tiles in here and went for up-stands instead as I didn’t want it looking OTT and I definitely think less is more in the kitchen. This white antique glass was specially made and took about 6-8 weeks but I love it. 🤩You can really see the antique detailing up close (swipe for pic) although we have had some slight issues with the measurements on the boxing in area around the island which we also wanted in glass. A little disappointing, so that’s got to be sorted out but I’m hoping it will be done before Christmas 🤞🏻
I just love Christmas decor ☺️ everything feel I just love Christmas decor ☺️ everything feels so cosy 🎄✨I’m surprised I’ve got any chocolates and sweets left on my tables though, because my niece keeps trying to eat them all when she comes over 😂
Christmas tree reveal 🤩🌲🎄 Although I pret Christmas tree reveal 🤩🌲🎄 Although I pretty much showed it on my Instagram stories🙊swipe for lots more up close pics....it’s a bit of a weird one this year, as I’m not feeling Christmassy in the slightest yet, this tree and all the decorations were supposed to be for the new kitchen but that plan has gone out the window thanks to the two new puppies that have taken over my kitchen. So I’ve used all these bits for the living room instead. Sorry for my lack of posts, I’ve got a hell of a lot going on and I’m still not 100% myself. Details below •Christmas tree 🎄 - is the snowy alpine 6ft from @christmastreeworld and I am obsessed! It’s so gorgeous and full looking! •All the flowers and sprays - from @tonyalmondonline ( my best find this year for amazing affordable decorations) •other decorations from @therangeuk and my local garden centres @longacresbagshot & @oaktreegardencentre •made the Dalmatian baubles myself it was so easy •stocking holders @homesense_ukie and the fluffy stockings are from @ebay_uk
Can’t believe how many messages I’ve had about Can’t believe how many messages I’ve had about this when I posted it on my stories over the weekend🙈 I literally just wanted something to store all my hair styling tools so they didn’t look all messy and tangled. I ended up on eBay and found and ordered these wall mounted holders...I didn’t even know they did special dyson hairdryer holders but I had to have one! I sprayed mine gold (obviously) because I didn’t want them black or silver and attached them to the side of my Ikea Alex unit and I’m so pleased with how it looks ☺️ These GHDs are also yearsssss old but some how still work perfectly and I can’t part with them because they’re a gorgeous gold! 😭
Another side of my beauty/dressing room....I’ve Another side of my beauty/dressing room....I’ve always wanted a proper dressing area, somewhere I can get ready and have all my clothes and accessories to hand. Before I was going in 2/3 rooms just to find bits, as I had it all scattered around 🙈 So pleased I went with the ikea corner pax wardrobe and got very excited over the pull out tray for my jewellery and accessories. (It’s the little things)...I don’t need no fancy pretty hammonds wardrobe....Ikea will do me nicely 😂 My bags won’t be staying like this either as I need to get another shelf next time I go to Ikea. I originally thought I needed more rail space but turns out I don’t, I think I just liked the idea of these pull out rails 🤨
I recently switched my beauty room around, (if you I recently switched my beauty room around, (if you watch my stories you would have seen) So I now have the bigger spare bedroom for my beauty and dressing area yay! And I’m so pleased with it. 😍 I’ve got so much more room now and I had a good sort out and declutter while I was at it, and no more buying makeup I don’t need✋🏻 the Dalmatian spots won’t be going back on the wall but I’ve got use for them somewhere else 👀 I love Dalmatian print but I thought with my new Dalmatian rug it was a little over kill 😂
Got these faux fur Dalmatian cushions from next fo Got these faux fur Dalmatian cushions from next for the living room...didn’t like how they looked in here for some reason, as preferred my other ones🙈 so these are now on the sofa in John’s gaming room 😂 I’m wondering if he will notice that my dalmatian print obsession will slowly be taking over in that room too 👀🙊
I love me some gold and spotty print office statio I love me some gold and spotty print office stationery!! America have the best stuff, which I’m sorry to say is where most of this is from but I often see gorgeous bits in tkmaxx and Homesense. Now my desk is all clean and tidy I must get back to actually blogging and doing some work 👀✍🏻👩🏼‍💻
Never seen such gorgeous and unusual coloured pamp Never seen such gorgeous and unusual coloured pampas before. 😍 Absolutely love @foxglove.studio / @foxglove.studiothekiosk for their amazing selection of dried flowers and the service is always brilliant. These are like a grey/ silver tone and are absolutely beautiful and so fluffy. I’m hoping their website is up and running soon so I can browse and buy lots more 👀🤞🏻plus so many people keep asking me where all my dried flowers are from 🌾🌾
So happy I got these over the sofa side tables. I’ve had my eye on these for a while now and found them in my local tk maxx and they weren’t damaged for a change so I had to get them. They make the perfect side tables when you don’t have much room. 🖤
