A lot of you will probably know that debenhams has started stocking KVD!! Yay it’s about time right?! U.K Retailers Are finally stepping up their game and bringing us American brands we so desperately want.
I actually ordered these bits from Sephora as I just couldn’t wait a few months plus I knew it would be hard to get stuff from debenhams Straight away, which seemed to be true as a lot of the stuff has sold out, let’s hope they restock soon.
I don’t actually own much from KVD the only thing I have got is Lolita everlasting liquid lipstick that I picked up when I was in America, the lock it foundation looked a bit to heavy and cakey looking for my dry skin and nothing else really appealed to me at first, I also have so many contour palettes so the shade + light contour palette was out the question. But let’s Fast forward a few months and I was itching to try the shade and light eye palette and the bow n arrow everlasting lipstick so I finally gave in and got them.
I love the artwork on the packaging, you can tell Kat really puts in the time and work when creating all her packaging.
Shade + light eye palette
The shade + light eye palette is a perfect basic palette with both warm and cool and neutral toned shades. I think this is perfect for Autumn and winter time. I love the layout of all the shades with the separate quads, it also comes with a handy instruction Sheet as I like to call it that shows you all the shades and some looks you can create.
I have a few shades that are my favourite the top one in the first quad is called Laetus which is like banana powder for your eyes, I use this to set my eye primer and it’s perfect for that. I also love both the brown shades in the neutral quad called samael & solas and also the rusty type shade in the warm quad called succubus I think they’re my favourites out the bunch.
I really hope I’ve given the right names in all the shades as it’s really confusing as all the names are on the back but when you turn over the palette it flips so I did google it and a lot of people have just gone with what’s on the back so I’ve done the same.
I also really love the formula, they have some fall out in the pan which is to be expected, a lot of my matte shades have some fall out, but they’re very pigmented and smooth and Blend lovely, I don’t have any trouble blending these on the eyes and the staying power is pretty good although I always use a eye shadow primer!
I like the fact each quad is sectioned in shade ranges, the first one is netural, middle is cool and the last one is warm toned.
Sorry about the swatches they aren’t the best and the last shade in the warm quad just wasn’t showing up on my skin. Pale problems lol
Bow n arrow everlasting lipstick
I actually got this for my birthday but I know they ordered it from Sephora, I have wanted this shade for so long now and it was forever out of stock. I do love my brown toned nudes and I kept seeing everyone wear this in the US and it looked amazing on, so I knew I would love this shade.
It’s the perfect brown nude on me, not to light or dark I really love it and I’ve been wearing it non stop, I haven’t actually worn Lolita in ages as the colour was just so dark on me so I hadn’t properly tried out the formula. But now I’ve been wearing bow n arrow for weeks and got to say the formula isn’t dry or patchy on me at all, I find it quite comfortable to wear and it lasts really well on me throughout the day.
It has just the perfect amount of brown in it to still be a nice nude colour on me.
I’m loving the few products I’ve got from KVD and I definitely want to check out more, I’ve got my eye on her new lock it Concealers, especially that white shade, it’s perfect for pale skin girls who want a highlight, I also really like the look of her new brushes as well.
Did you pick anything up from the debenhams launch ? Or currently have any KVD products your loving? Let me know in the comments.
