Hey Loves
This is a post I’m quite excited to write as I love DIY and crafts I’m definitely one of these girls who finds lots of stuff and inspo on Pinterest, sometimes they end up Pinterest fails but not all the time LOL
I want to show you some of the stuff I’ve found and made that I use for some makeup and beauty storage, which is also easy and looks pretty cool if I do say so myself, I hope it’s s helpful to some, I get asked a lot about my storage so I thought why not do a post about it.
This picture has become quite popular and was featured on BuzzFeed in an article about beauty storage you can read it here any way this is just a cheap egg holder that I got from Tesco in the sale and I actually just added some gold detailing with a gold pen, so that it would match my theme and beauty room obviously (I’m gold obsessed) I was so fed up of losing my sponges or them rolling around on my desk so I thought this was a really easy way to store them, plus I think this looks so cute on my desk.
I like to collect mugs, glasses and jars and store my lip liners and some liquid lipsticks in I just think that way they look so tidy and are easier to reach for, some acrylic makeup storage can be so expensive and this is just a cool mug I found and loved it, plus I think it was under £5 so affordable and different to the standard acrylic storage, you can find so many slogan and quirky mugs now, or even make your own with a sharpie pen.
This is also another Mug I got from anthropologie, the famous monogram mug that comes out every Christmas, I had wanted this for over a year and finally managed to get one, I’m sure loads of you have seen these, but I thought it looked so cute to use as storage, I’ve seen people store makeup brushes in these as well, the list is endless.
And while I’m on the subject of mugs I also like to hunt around for glasses too, I found this in TKmaxx for £3 and knew I would use it for something, its got gold spots on and I loved it again it goes well with my theme, So I currently store these makeup brushes in this. I just liked the fact it was different.
F you’re looking for something to keep your palettes organised and tidy, well you need go buy a letter rack and then you can also jazz it up a bit and you have got yourself a stylish palette holder, I’ve got two of these, one I spray painted gold and this one I left black but I had these magnets so I spray painted this also and added it to this, just because I’m weird like that, but I thought it looked pretty cute lol, this one I store my lashes and other random stuff in and my other one I store eyeshadow or z palettes in, it’s really handy and so cheap to do.
If you want something a little more stylish and unique but affordable? I’ve hopefully got that covered for you too, This I made all by myself and I’m actually impressed, it definitely looks like something MAC would charge a lot of money for. What I did is got a basic glass jar or whatever you have you want to use, I then used two different colours and sizes of vinyl using the MAC logo ( I own a vinyl cutting machine ) and then stick them together and you can add it to anything, I’ve got 3 of these glass jars all different sizes and I love them, and get lots of complements , I actually like these for keeping my MAC brushes in. The glass beads I found on Ebay, I wanted to leave the listing for you but it’s now disappeared.
next up is probably one of my favourites and is my DIY lipstick holders that are actually Ice cube trays can you believe it?? I found these in B&M home stores for £1.99 you get a pack of 2 and they fit all different sized lipsticks and liquid lipsticks in plus they also fit in the IKEA alex drawers perfectly which is a bonus! I’m not going to lie I got so excited over these ha ha. I also think you can find different Ice cube trays for eyeshadows and little items like that.
I think that is pretty much it, a lot of my other storage is bits and bobs I’ve found in tk maxx, home sense, and also ordered some acrylic storage from amazon and eBay. I love by allegory on amazon it’s not the cheapest but it’s really good quality. Also a little tip is to Make sure when you go to shops to check out the kitchen and bathroom departments as that’s normally where I find a lot of mine.
I always love to know what other people use so leave a comment below, or let me know if you decide to use any of my ideas, I also hope this post has been helpful and gives you some Inspiration to create your own storage.
