I recently was shopping in H&M and came across the beauty section, I promise I haven’t been under a rock this whole time I knew H&M had their own beauty line out, but on previous visits the makeup section in my store looked ransacked and completely empty, well on this particular day it was well stocked and I actually managed to have a look and swatch session without someone over my shoulder, does anyone else hate it when you are trying to look at makeup and someone is always over your shoulder looking at what you are doing?? surely its not just me lol.
I wanted to check out the eye shadows the most, but I ended up picking up a few other goodies. Read on for my first impressions and swatches.
I ended up picking up an eye shadow quad, contour quad, 3 single eye shadows, powder blusher, 3 eye liners.
Look at that packaging though, I’m a sucker for white, gold and black! I would say these are more drug store prices too which is a bonus.
I picked up these 3 shades to try first, I didn’t want to go mad In case I didn’t like them on the eyes. I do love the gold packaging on these though, they are only priced at £4.99 each and are very pigmented, they blend ok, but for the price I think they are nice. I probably picked up the most random shades but a few of the ones I did like were sold out.
L-R Candied Almond, Golden Light, Cocoa Mauve
I also got this warm me up nude eye quad
It was £7.99 and comes with 4 matte nude eye shadows, Matte finish are my favourite eye shadows and you can never have enough neutral shades. Again they are really pigmented and blend nicely. for the price I am very happy with the quality of these products so far and would definitely pick up more. I can see myself using these shades a lot, it has a nice selection of browns.
Shape and shade contour quad
This was also £7.99 I’m not blown away by this one the shades are nice it has your standard pink, yellow powder and then a warm and cool contour powder. I find the powders are not very pigmented and didn’t blend that well, these also look a bit powdery in the swatch. I would pass on getting this.
Next up the powder blusher which are £6.99 each, This was also one of products I really wanted to try along with the eye shadows, they had a really nice selection of blushers, I went with brown sugar, It does swatch slightly different to how it looks In the pan. Its very pigmented and picks up so much product on the brush, which I was not expecting. It says its a radiance sheer coverage luminous finish powder. I will be picking up more of these In different shades for sure.
brown sugar has that peachy undertone and I love it on the skin.
I also picked up 3 eyeliners for my waterline one was a nude/flesh colour, white and a copper gold shade. I’ve only tried the nude shade so far which is nice for brightening up my eyes, only issue I had was it didn’t last as long as my usual eyeliner I use but these were £2.99 so not a bad price considering and I love the gold caps on the eyeliners. The colour essence pencil was £3.99
Out of all the items I purchased I would recommend the blushes and single eye shadows and I am definitely going to get some more of those. plus I think they look so pretty on my vanity with the gold, white and black packaging.
You can find these online and also in selected H&M stores.
