I want to share with you my latest Beauty Haul, I ordered a couple of the New Hydra matte liquid lipstick shades and a couple of glosses from Gerard cosmetics!!
I came across this brand a couple of years ago on Instagram and fell in love with the look of their products, everyone was raving about the lipsticks and glosses and the packaging is to die for, I mean who doesn’t love gold? I saw those lipsticks and thought how amazing they would look on my vanity! One of the many reasons I love this brand is the fact they have such amazing deals, as its American I like to save some money where I can on shipping etc and they are always doing great deals, I recently got 40% off and free international shipping so I couldn’t miss out on these New spring Hydra matte shades.
Right away I wanted 1995 as I already owned the matching lipstick and also Everything nice caught my eye, I do love my nudes! I had also been wanting to try out the glosses for a while so I finally gave in and got a couple, I kept seeing the lovely Amanda Ensing on YouTube wearing cocoa bean and plum crazy, she can seriously rock any lip colour and make them look gorgeous, so these were the ones I desperately wanted.
As it was around Easter weekend I ordered these they took about Two weeks to arrive and I had no custom charge yay!
Here is my complete GC collection
I had previously made a few orders (again when they had an offer on) I got some lipsticks, the BB plus illuminator, & I also got the star highlighter powders, and the ecstasy hydra matte for Christmas off my boyfriend I’m so glad he understands my makeup addiction.
I really like the lipsticks, they are a little drying as matte lipsticks can be, but Rodeo Drive, berry smoothie and buttercup are more of a satin/sheen type of lipstick so aren’t as drying on the lips. I love buttercup for the summer its a really nice nude and also 1995 is one of my favourite’s for autumn/winter.
Next up the Hydra mattes L-R Ecstasy, 1995, everything nice
I really like the formula of these they aren’t drying at all and last a good few hours on me even when eating. plus they have a really nice shade selection. Everything nice and 1995 do look very similar they are both that brown type of nude, I would describe it as a spiced nude, and 1995 has that Mauve tone.
Now on to the lip glosses, I absolutely love the packaging on these, when you open them they have a light on the applicator and also a Mirror on the side so you can apply them easily if you are out and about, its such a cool idea. These are very pigmented and not too sticky like glosses can be.
Again these do look very similar but look different on the lips, cocoa bean is more brown and plum crazy lives up to the name, It has the plum/purple tones.
I think this BB illuminator was one of the first items I purchased, I had see some swatches going around on Instagram and loved the look of it, I’m obsessed with liquid highlighters I just love adding them to foundation and sometimes I prefer to wear just liquid highlighters rather than powders. The fact this is a BB cream is a bonus, it can be added to moisturisers or used as a primer it has lots of uses and it’s a gorgeous gold shade.
These star powders are the only things I’m not that keen on, I love the packaging with the mirror and plastic cap, but to me these aren’t highlighters, They are really powdery and just look chalky on the skin, the swatches I had seen online looked amazing but they just don’t show up on my skin, which is a disappointment. I have tried using them with MACs fix plus but it still doesn’t make any difference so I wont be purchasing any more of these in the future, if these had a better formula they could be amazing.
The shades I have are Audrey & Marilyn.
So that pretty much sums up my collection and review, I would really recommend the lip products and BB illuminator, they have also just launched scented makeup setting sprays that I’ve got my eye on next.
If you would like to purchase anything don’t forgot to check for any discount codes beforehand as they always have amazing offers.
